2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Round 5 Results & Wrap Up

It was another action-packed weekend of footy as Round 5 of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership played out across the country.

On Friday night an early upset got the round underway as the Gold Coast Titans became the first team to defeat the mighty Melbourne Storm this season when they defeated them 20 – 16 at Skilled Park, leaving no teams without a loss in 2010.

More wins by the underdogs were to follow including the New Zealand Warriors’ 30 – 24 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

And, the Sydney Roosters once again baulked when facing their bogie team the Penrith Panthers going down in an embarrassing 28 – 6 loss on Sunday afternoon.

Once again there were a string of dramatic moments and injuries throughout the round, most notably Jonathan Thurston’s possible season-ending shoulder injury he sustained when the North Queensland Cowboys were beaten 23 – 16 by the Wests Tigers at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday.
