Round 6 – Match 1 Preview: Gold Coast Titans v St George Illawarra Dragons

Round six begins with a bang on Friday night as the Titans attempt to slay the Dragons after their win ahead of the mighty Storm last week.

Again the Gold Coast have the home ground advantage playing at Skilled Park, where they always put in their best performance and are nearly unbeatable.

But last week’s win ahead of the Storm had a lot to do with a couple of controversial penalties and if they are to match St George in defence and attack they will have to really pick up their game.

The bookies have the Dragons as the favourites, just, currently at $1.83 for a win with Ladbrokes.com.au.

While Dragons rake Luke Priddis is set to notch his 300th NRL game on Friday night, the team has been left short-handed for their match against the Titans with prop Michael Weyman out over a one-week ban over a carless high tackle he made on Brisbane player Ben Hunt.

The loss comes at a crucial time as the Dragons will also be missing Matt Prior, Jeremy Smith and Jarrod Saffy due to injury, giving the Titans room to strike.

Meanwhile, the Titans were able to score victory without the help of Scott Prince last week and so could very well have the confidence and the upper hand to take down the weakened Dragons here and claim their fifth season win.

Current Head-to-Head Odds: Titans $2 – Dragons $1.83 Ladbrokes.com.au
