Round 6 – Match 6 Preview: New Zealand Warriors v Penrith Panthers

Another thrilling match on Sunday sees the Warriors host the Panthers at Mt Smart Stadium. Both teams are coming off solid Round 5 wins, the Warriors claiming a surprise win against the Bulldogs while the Panthers thrashed the Roosters.

Equally matched with three wins each this season, the home ground advantage and recent ability to play well away will see the Warriors start as the odds-on favourites currently at $1.75 with

Penrith two, however, will be enjoying a boost of confidence not only after last week’s win but also their victory against Newcastle the round before, where they showed great determination to come from behind to snare victory.

So, both teams can win in a number of different circumstances which will make for some interesting footy.

New Zealand will have to make sure they don’t relax too much being at home and will also have to keep a close eye on Luke Walsh who played an excellent kicking game for the Panthers last week.

But with the Warriors without Manu Vatuvei, who was instrumental in their win ahead of the Bulldogs, following his re-injured hamstring the Panthers may just cause an upset in New Zealand if they can play consistently, which has been a problem.

Current Head-to-Head Odds: Warriors $1.75 – Panthers $2.12
