NRL Round 7 – Match 3 Preview: Penrith Panthers v Wests Tigers

The Tigers let many, most notably themselves, down last week when they suffered a big 24 – 4 loss to the Bulldogs, unable to maintain the excellent earlier form that saw them secure three consecutive wins.

Wests will start as the underdogs on Saturday afternoon and understandably so when you look at the Panthers sizzling form.

Penrith had a sensational 40 – 12 win ahead of the Warriors in New Zealand last week and look well positioned with the home ground advantage to claim their fourth successive victory this round.

In a bid to help them on Saturday, Tigers captain Robbie Farah will play despite ligament damage to his elbow sustained last week.

The loss of Farah would be a devastating blow to an already weakened Wests playing without a number of injured star players including fullback Tim Moltzen.

With Penrith boasting both great attacking on their edges as well as brilliant back row defence, Wests will find it very hard to get the points on the board.

Last time they met back in June 09 the Panthers gave the Tigers a 26 – 10 hiding and it may be the same big cat coming out on top this time if Wests can’t get back their momentum.

Current Head-to-Head Odds: Panthers $1.43 – Tigers $2.85
