NRL Round 7 – Match 5 Preview: Canberra Raiders v South Sydney Rabbitohs

The first of three big ANZAC day showdowns sees the Raiders host the Rabbitohs at Canberra Stadium.

South Sydney had been very impressive this season going into Round 6 on the back of three big wins, but suffered a shock 22 – 8 loss to the struggling Eels last week.

The Raiders, however, have been very inconsistent this season and have won only one of their two home ground games this year. They were also beaten by an emphatic 30 points by the Roosters, led by their old teammate Todd Carney, last week and so will be fired up about that.

Last time these two met the Raiders came away with a comfortable win, but South Sydney have made some much needed improvements since then so it will be an interesting test to see how they go down in Canberra.

One of the toughest games of Round 7 to pick, but we are going to do the dreaded and bet against Canberra at home, saying the Rabbitohs will return to form and win this one.
