2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Round 7 Results & Wrap Up

After a disastrous week for the NRL following the shocking revelations regarding the Melbourne Storm’s salary cap rort, the ANZAC Day long weekend featured a superb round of football with Rugby League fans across the country coming together to enjoy the thrill of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership.

Many NRL enthusiasts weren’t sure how Melbourne would handle their first game playing for no points, but the Storm had something to prove and that they did on Sunday night when they smashed the New Zealand Warriors 40 points to six.

One of the most shocking upsets in Round 7 was the Cronulla Sharks 20 point win ahead of the previously impressive Newcastle Knights on Saturday night, which gave the Sharks just their second win for 2010.

There were a number of really tight matches as well including the South Sydney Rabbitohs 26 – 24 win ahead of the Canberra Raiders on Sunday afternoon and the Gold Coast Titans surprise two point defeat of the Manly Sea Eagles on Monday at Brookvale Oval.

And the classic ANZAC Day clash everyone was waiting for saw the powerful St George Illawarra Dragons beat the Sydney Roosters 28 – 6 after the Chooks choked in the second half.
