NRL Round 8 – Match 8 Preview: South Sydney Rabbitohs v Manly Sea Eagles

In the final match of Round 8 another two teams who have been very evenly matched this season, the Rabbitohs and the Sea Eagles, will face off at ANZ Stadium.

Last week Manly had the home ground advantage but went down in a shock 24 – 22 loss to the in-form Titans. It was their first defeat in five games and this week the bookies are backing them to return to their previous form with installing them as the $1.66 favourites.

This season South Sydney also have four wins to their name after their close defeat of the Raiders last week down in Canberra, and they will be thrilled to be playing back at home this week and bring home the confidence of that nice victory.

These two haven’t faced off in quite awhile, not since Round 22 in August last year when the Rabbitohs won 36 – 22, but all the focus is on the Sea Eagles in this rematch.

Interesting that the Bunnies are at $2.25, quite generous when you consider the job they did last week and that they have the home ground advantage.

Manly will have to stay focused and really try and dominate ball possession if they want to beat South Sydney at home. Despite how well the Sea Eagles have been playing this year, we think that last week’s game will have weakened their confidence and with Manly’s habit of fading in the last forty, we think the Rabbitohs could be another surprise winner this weekend.

Current Head-to-Head Odds: Rabbitohs $2.25 – Sea Eagles $1.66
