2010 NRL Round 13 Match & Betting Previews

With so much happening in the world of Rugby League including State of Origin and Israel Folau announcing his move to AFL, fans of Australia’s favourite footy code are treated to a full eight-match line up this week as we move into Round 13 of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership.

That’s right, the half-way point of the standard season is upon us as teams really start to dig deep and put everything they have into making the top eight to feature in the finals for 2010.

Last week there were both triumphs and failures for the teams topping the NRL ladder, as the clubs best able to back up after Game 1 of the State of Origin secured victory.

Round 12 opened with the St George Illawarra Dragons showing exactly why they are at the top of the ladder after all these weeks with a big 30 – nil victory ahead of the Parramatta Eels.

This week the Dragons travel across the Tasman to play the Warriors and should win after New Zealand suffered a massive 50 – 6 thrashing by the Tigers last week.

Kept scoreless by the Dragons, the Eels have some work to do this week if they are to get back on track. They play on Friday night at home hosting the Storm.

Meanwhile the team that handed the Warriors such a hiding, the resurging Wests Tigers also play on Friday night when they face the struggling Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

Last week Canterbury were well beaten 23 – 12 by Melbourne, the Storm enjoying their maiden victory at the new AAMI Park.

Other big wins from Round 12 went to the two foundation clubs, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Sydney Roosters. The Bunnies put the Panthers, previously in the number two spot, in their place with a comprehensive 42 -22 win, while the Chooks travelled to Skilled Park and managed to defeat the Titans at home 16 – 30.

Below is a comprehensive preview of the eight Round 13 matches scheduled for this weekend. Don’t forget to check out the odds for the games as well as the best exotic Rugby League Betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Friday night’s opener.
