2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Round 13 Results & Wrap Up

It was another intense week in the world of Rugby League as Round 13 of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership marked the half-way point of the season.

There were upset wins, triumphs, tantrums, thrashings and incredible showdowns left right and centre as the highly anticipated Grand Final looms ever closer.

One of the major highlights of Round 13, and the game that has received the most post-match attention, was the Eels 24 – 10 victory ahead of the Storm on Friday night. It was revenge time for Parramatta, who felt cheated out of last year’s Premiership decider, and the ‘rematch’ was all about fury, passion and making amends.

The shock victory of the round went to the Sharks, who despite having had one of the worst runs in Rugby League history, were able to travel to Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday and hand the inconsistent Roosters a 42 – 18 loss.

The Gold Coast Titans dropped out of the top four on the ladder when the improving Raiders got the better of them 28 – 24 on Sunday, while the Dragons remain the clear Premiership favourites following their 10th victory for the year narrowly defeating the Warriors 22- 20 in New Zealand.

Other talking points included the Broncos gritty victory ahead of Manly, when the resurgent Brisbane team held strong to knock the Sea Eagles out of the top three with an impressive 22 – 6 win.
