NRL Round 15 – Match 6 Preview: Wests Tigers v Canberra Raiders

Sunday afternoon’s second showdown is another beauty with the Wests Tigers facing off against the Canberra Raiders at Leichhardt Oval.

Now number three on the ladder, the Tigers look to have this one in the bag as they come into this match on the back of some great form with three wins and then a bye last week to refresh them. They are also at full strength having had no Origin reps and so look very dangerous at home.

The Raiders lost last week when they went down 16 – 8 to the Cowboys, and will be feeling the sting of the loss. But they do have their Origin stars back with the Blues benchman Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Maroon’s No. 10 Dave Shillington, playing in his 100th first-grade game on Sunday, named in the line-up. Also Joel Monaghan returns after he was a late call up for Origin II to replace Timana Tahu who controversially walked out on the Blues.

Even with the return of the two Origin players, the Raiders are still the long-priced underdogs paying $2.95 through Ladbrokes.com.au while the Wests Tigers are the hot $1.40 favourites.

Going on recent form, consistency and taking the venue into account we are backing the Tigers to make it four consecutive wins here. Also, without their exciting fullback Josh Dugan still out with injury, the Green Machine doesn’t look as strong.

It was a high scoring affair the last time these two met when Wests beat the Raiders 35 – 22 back in Round four, so check out the exotic betting markets like the Plus 12.5 or the Winning Margin Spread at Ladbrokes.com.au for this rematch if you want to add a little excitement!
