There is just a little over two months to go until Rugby League fans get to enjoy the sudden death finals of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership to decide the top two teams who will go head to head in the Grand Final in October.
This weekend will be a full-on footy feast with a complete eight-match round ready to kick off, the NRL Women in League Round.
The competition leaders host the first game of the round when the No. 1 Dragons play the Wests Tigers in a quality top three showdown at WIN Jubilee Stadium. Last week the Dragons enjoyed a comprehensive 22 – 4 win ahead of the Sharks, while the Tigers did Leichardt Oval proud with a 18 – 8 victory ahead of the Raiders.
The Sharks play the Cowboys this Saturday in an evenly matched game between two of the worst performers of the season, while the Raiders enjoy the home ground advantage against the Bulldogs in Round 16’s closing match on Monday night.
North Queensland were embarrassed last week when they went down 12 – 58 to an on-fire Storm outfit, while the Bulldogs weren’t quite able to topple the Titans when they went down by just one point last Friday night.
This week Melbourne play the Rabbitohs, which is set to be a cracker match, and the Titans have another game at Skilled Park against the Knights.
Other scintillating battles to be fought this weekend include the Eels v Broncos match on Saturday arvo at Parramatta Stadium, and the Panthers v Sea Eagles showdown on Friday night at Penrith.
