NRL Round 16 – Match 4 Preview:South Sydney Rabbitohs v Melbourne Storm

Saturday night features another great face off between the Rabbitohs and the Storm at the ME Stadium in Perth, and this is the match where South Sydney have to stand up and show they have what it takes to be a top four team.

South Sydney have managed to hang onto a spot in the top eight, currently number seven on the ladder, despite having suffered back-to-back defeat including their intensely close 25 – 26 loss to Manly last week.

Melbourne enjoyed their biggest win of the season in Round 15, when they smashed an embarrassed Cowboys 58 – 12, and will no doubt be brimming with confidence after the victory.

The Storm then will start as the warm favourites, with Ladbrokes.com.au currently paying $1.48 for them to win while the Rabbitohs are at the long odds of $2.65. Even though Melbourne are a strong outfit, we are going to pick the underdogs and say that the Bunnies can put an end to their losing streak with a win here.

Souths played with a weakened team when they lost to the Broncos two weeks back and last week’s defeat was by just one point, so they can still rise above and stake their premiership claims yet.

History is against them though, as they have lost their last eight straight games to the Storm, but they have they class and just need to bring the determination.
