The 17th week of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership played out over the weekend, and as always footy fans were treated to an entertaining array of spectacular showdowns.
Things kicked off on Friday night with a devastatingly close match decided by just two points in the final minutes, when the Wests Tigers held on to defeat the Broncos 16 – 14.
There has been some movement on the ladder, Brisbane slipping out of the top eight into the ninth spot as the Warriors huge 35 – 6 victory over the Eels on Sunday afternoon has seen New Zealand sneak into eighth spot.
Meanwhile the Roosters were able to beat the Raiders 22 – 12 this week, earning their seventh position on the ladder.
The most anticipated game of Round 17 was Monday night’s clash between the Dragons and the Panthers, as the top two teams in the competition came head-to-head. And, with Origin taking the heat out of St George’s fire, the Panthers were able to pounce and secure a nice 12 – 8 victory tying the teams on 26 competition points.

This Wednesday night ANZ Stadium comes alive with the third and final showdown of the 2010 Harvey Norman State of Origin. The series may have been decided, but the war between states is far from over as the Blues will be fighting to stop Queensland securing a clean sweep.
We all love a punt come Origin time, but if you are still going to the TAB then you are getting ripped off! Make sure you put your money on your state at an online bookmaker like Ladbrokes.com.au to get the best payouts.
