NRL Round 18 – Match 1 Betting Preview: Wests Tigers v Gold Coast Titans

The Tigers taking on the Titans, the number threes playing the number fours, it doesn’t get much better than this Friday night footy showdown!

With both the Wests Tigers and the Gold Coast Titans well on their way to a spot in September footy this season, this match will separate the premiership contenders from the pretenders as they are currently tied on 22 competition points at the moment.

When having a punt on this one at keep in mind who is backing up from Wednesday night’s Origin. This gives the Tigers a big advantage as they had no one in Origin III so are at full strength, except for the loss of Gareth Ellis to injury, while the Titans have Ashley Harrison and Greg Bird returning from Origin.

Don’t forget too that the Tigers have the home ground advantage at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, and even though the Titans have won a few away this season, it’s always hard to go past the Tigers at any of their home venues.

Their lack of Origin players and the home ground advantage make the Tigers a good pick here, and they are the hot $1.60 favourites at to win.

However if you like the look of the Titans’ juicy $2.35 odds, remember Scott Prince is due to return from his hamstring injury, which will boost the Gold Coast’s confidence and prospects.

Tigers have had the better recent form winning five of their last six including their narrow 16 – 14 win over the Broncos last week, while the Titans are fresh off a bye.

Even though some of their wins have been lucky, we like the Tigers here at home on a Friday night.
