NRL Round 18 – Match 4 Preview & Tips: Canterbury Bulldogs v Melbourne Storm

The action of Round 18 continues on Saturday night when the Bulldogs have a ‘home game’ at Adelaide Oval against the Melbourne Storm.

Canterbury have managed to work their way up to number 12 on the ladder, which is a good sign for any punter who tipped them to make the top eight at pre-season, as they are still in contention for the finals – just.

Having won their last two from two the Dogs will have gained a bit of confidence, but beating the Raiders and the Sharks is not really in the same league as defeating Melbourne. However the mid-week Origin showdown may have slowed the Storm down just enough for the Dogs to sink their teeth in.

Melbourne come into this one fresh off a bye, before which they disappointingly lost to the Rabbitohs. However, if all the Storm’s Origin stars back up okay they should be far more dangerous.

With Slater still on a high after claiming man of the match and of the series on Wednesday night, and Inglis, Smith and Cronk returning, this one could go Melbourne’s way. But it was a tough Origin match and with so many stars on the turnaround, how they back up will be crucial for the Storm’s success.

The Bulldogs need hooker Michael Ennis to come back okay from Origin, but with Jamal Idris having found his feat and young Ben Barba doing some really impressive stuff lately, have installed the Dogs as the $1.85 favourites while Melbourne are out to $1.97.

Also when having a punt on this one remember that these two met not long ago when the Storm beat the Bulldogs 23 – 12 in Round 12, with Canterbury looking for revenge this time round.

Dogs to win three in a row for the first time this season.
