2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Round 18 Results & Wrap Up

With just two months until the NRL finals begin, we are now at the pointy end of the competition and Round 18 of the Telstra Premiership did not disappoint fans wanting to see intense and dramatic footy!

There were upsets a plenty as teams fought for their spot in the top eight, and with a number of star players backing up after Origin for the last time this season, some of the best clubs fell short this week.

Things kicked off with a great top four showdown when the Wests Tigers held on by just one point to defeat a gallant Gold Coast Titans on Friday night. The other Friday night footy game was a classic Sydney derby where the Roosters managed to defeat the Rabbithos 18 – 14. The results after these games saw the Titans fall to fifth on the ladder as Sydney rose into fourth spot.

There were plenty of close clashes over the round, with the Raiders beating Manly at Brookvale Oval on Saturday by just two points winning 24 – 22, and the Bulldogs started to turn their season around with a narrow 20 – 18 win over the Storm on Saturday.

The biggest upset of Round 18 was on Sunday arvo, when a listless Panthers side nearly lost their number two position with a poor performance against a determined Warriors outfit, New Zealand winning 12 – 6.
