NRL Round 19 – Match 1 Betting Preview: South Sydney Rabbitohs v St George Illawarra Dragons

Round 19 kicks off on Friday night with a top showdown featuring the competition leaders against one of their long standing rivals as the Dragons travel to ANZ Stadium to take on the Rabbitohs.

St George Illawarra are still at the top of the ladder as their bye last week gave them another two comp points, before which they went down 12 – 8 to the second-ranked Panthers.

The Rabbitohs have lost some steam over recent weeks having had just one win in their past four and losing 18 – 14 last round to the Roosters.

At home South Sydney may have more luck, but with the Dragons back at full strength with the return of their Origin stars they are going to be very hard to sleigh especially off a bye.

Will be the first time these two have met this season and probably not the best time for the Bunnies to face the top team when they are a little low on confidence without injured hooker Issac Luke.

The last time these two met was back in Round 25 last season when South Sydney thrashed the Dragons 41 – 6, but St George Illawarra have won six of the last eight so stats are on their side.

The Bunnies were cocky last week and embarrassed in the end and the refreshed Red V outfit looking to reclaim their dominance in the competition won’t stand for that.

With Jamie Soward in top form and Gasiner on reserve the Dragons are the pick and we are sticking with the $1.50 favourites at Ladbrokes.com.au, but don’t miss this one because things are going to get intense!
