NRL Round 19 – Match 6 Betting Preview: Canberra Raiders v Newcastle Knights

On Sunday afternoon the Raiders look confident to take on the Knights at Canberra Stadium in another blockbuster Rivalry Round clash.

Canberra claimed the upset win of the week last round when they broke their four-match losing streak with a tight 24 – 22 win over the Sea Eagles.

The confidence of that success and the home ground advantage will see them start as the favourites for the first time in a while and although they are well down the ladder in 13th spot, aren’t dead and gone just yet.

Newcastle also enjoyed a win last week beating the Sharks 21 – 10. It was the Knight’s third straight victory after they previously beat the Eels and then the Titans and so have some good recent form to consider when having a punt at Ladbrokes.com.au.

First time these two have faced off this season, the Raiders having won their last battle 30 – 14 back in Round 25 last year. If they can take advantage of the home crowd and utilise fullback Josh Dugan, likely to improve after his recent return from injury, then Canberra can achieve a similar result on Sunday. This is why Ladbrokes.com.au have them as the $1.48 favourites while the Knights are at the long odds of $2.65.

With veteran Campese and young gun Vidot both in great form for Canberra, we are putting our faith in the Raiders and praying they can make Canberra Stadium the imposing venue it has been in other seasons.

Green Machine to capitalise on their attacking opportunities, win, and start their run to the finals.
