NRL Round 20 – Match 3 Tips & Preview: Canberra Raiders v Cronulla Sharks

Things don’t get any easier for the struggling Sharks in Round 20 as they head down to chilly Canberra Stadium to play the confident Raiders on Saturday night.

A low-ranking Cronulla are now sitting in the 14th spot after suffering their third straight loss last week, going down 48 – 18 in an absolute mauling by Manly.

And things just went from bad to worse throughout the week with their coach Ricky Stuart standing down and leaving the club early.

Canberra, on the other hand, will be high on confidence coming into this one after they enjoyed a massive 52 – 18 win over the Knights last round. It was their second win on the trot and boosted them up to number 11 on the ladder, keeping their finals hopes alive.

The Raiders could still ‘Make the Top 8’ so check out their odds at Ladbrokes.com.au

This is the first time these two have met for the season, their last face off was back in Round 14 last year when the Sharks won by just two points.

We are betting the tables will turn here and are backing the Raiders, current $1.38 favourites at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The Green Machine are on fire with skipper Terry Campese and fullback Josh Dugan working well and getting the results. Getting away plenty of offloads and facing the Sharks who were dismal in defence last week, Canberra should coast to another big win.

However, the bravest of Sharks fans will still back them at $3.05 through Ladbrokes.com.au after reading the stat that shows Canberra have lost nine times after putting 40 points or more on their rivals the previous week. And there is a glimmer for Cronulla as they will be looking to impress their new coach.

Still not enough for us, but you just never know in the League!

Footy Tip of the Match – Josh Dugan to score the Raiders first try at $6.50 through Ladbrokes.com.au

Recently resigned to Canberra and in flying form, Josh Dugan was able to score just two minutes in last week and so we think he will be the ‘1st Try Scorer’ for the home team again this week at $6.50 through Ladbrokes.com.au
