NRL Round 21 – Match 1 Betting Preview: Canterbury Bulldogs v South Sydney Rabbitohs

In this sensational Sydney derby the low ranked Bulldogs will be let off the leash when they host the rising Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

Canterbury look to have had their finals dreams crushed in the last fortnight losing their last two matches against the Roosters and then the Eels.

South Sydney have also been in a bit of trouble recently, but managed to fight back last week with a tidy 10 point win over the Warriors.

They now need to win four of their last six to get to September, and so will be bringing everything they have to this match including the returning Issac Luke.

Rabbitohs need to win 4 from their next 6 to payout on the ‘Make the Top 8’ bets fans have made at

With lively hooker Luke coming back for the Bunnies, just in time as they have lost powerhouse Dave Taylor, South Sydney have the advantage and will start as the favourites, currently paying $1.64 for them to win.

Rabbitohs halfback Chris Sandow was red hot last week and with his swift step and brilliant bounce they should have plenty of points in them again this week.

The last time these two met was back in Round 4 when the Rabbitohs smashed the Doggies 38 – 16 and the way both of their seasons have progressed, it could be a similar result here but a little closer.

Canterbury have likely said goodbye to September already, and so the Bunnies will be more desperate for the win and should come good as long as they keep up their defence and snuff out any Ben Barba magic.
