NRL Round 21 – Match 5 Preview & Tips: New Zealand Warriors v Gold Coast Titans

This is an important top eight showdown on Sunday afternoon as the Titans travel across the Tasman to take on the Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland.

These two are head-to-head on the ladder, New Zealand sitting in sixth while the Gold Coast are hanging onto their finals hopes in seventh spot.

The Warriors will be looking to regain their sensational form of late, after their incredible five match winning streak came to an end last week thanks to the Rabbitohs.

Another must win match for the Titans who lost three on the trot, nearly knocked out of the top eight, before a thrilling golden point extra time victory over the Dragons last week.

One of the hardest games of the round to pick, both teams desperate for a finals spot and the loser could be out of the race.

The Warriors have the home ground advantage and plenty of attack, but the Titans would be brimming with confidence after slaying the Dragons and have been gallant in defeat over the last month. have the Warriors as the $1.52 favourites looking at the venue and recent form, while the Titans are the $2.60 underdogs, which is generous considering New Zealand have lost Jerome Ropati and Kevin Locke to injury.

These two last met back in the opening round and the Titans scored a six-point win. It will be another close match here, but with the drizzly conditions in Auckland and James Maloney in form the Gold Coast may find themselves out of the top eight come the end of the round.

But the Titans have shown they can travel well this season and have more to lose if they don’t win, so if you are looking for the underdog pick this is it.
