NRL Round 22 – Match 2 Betting Preview: Gold Coast Titans v Parramatta Eels

In a top Friday night footy clash the Gold Coast Titans have the home ground advantage as they host the recently defeated Eels at Skilled Park.

Showing they are taking this year’s premiership very seriously, the Titans posted their second straight win last week when they travelled to New Zealand and beat the Warriors.

This came after their gritty golden point victory over the Dragons, proving they have what it takes to match it with the best in the comp.

But despite all this promise the Titans still have a number of critics out there who don’t give them a chance to win the premiership.

Parramatta will still be feeling the sting of last week’s embarrassing 48 – 12 loss at the hands of the red hot Roosters, their recent resurgence coming to a halt and their odds to win the premiership drifting in the markets.

Playing at home, full of confidence and welcoming back Ashley Harrison the Gold Coast look the pick and are the current favourites at $1.78.

But the Eels are trailing closely at $2.02 to win, with co-captain Nathan Cayless set to equal Brad Fittler’s NRL club captain record of 216 and ready for a big game.

These two haven’t met since the semis last year when the Eels enjoyed a massive 27 – 2 win, their only victory ahead of the Titans.

This time we are tipping the Titans to turn the table on their rivals and push Parramatta further out of contention.

If the Gold Coast can contain the Hayne Plane like the Roosters did last week and start strongly then they should win this in front of a big home crowd.

Footy Tip of the Match – Kevin Gordon to score the Titans’ first try at $5.50 through

With the Titans sure to use Prince’s accurate kicking to score, we like the chance of a cross-field kick going to winger Kevin Gordon early and so are betting on Gordon to score the Gold Coast’s first try at $5.50 through
