NRL Round 22 – Match 4 Preview & Odds: South Sydney Rabbitohs v Wests Tigers

One of the most anticipated games of Round 22 is set to take place on Saturday night when the Rabbitohs host the Tigers at ANZ Stadium.

South Sydney have dropped out of the top eight after suffering an huge 32 – 12 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs last week and are now very desperate to win and put their finals dreams back on track.

Wests have managed to stay in fourth spot after beating the Sharks last round, their fourth in five weeks broken only by their loss to the Sea Eagles.

With the home ground advantage and definitely the more desperate of the two, we think South Sydney will have enough drive to win this.

Back in Round 10 the Bunnies ran circles around the Tigers with a huge 50 – 10 victory, their largest win of the season.

This last result works both ways, giving Souths confidence to repeat the feat and the Tigers bitter determination to turn the tables.

Despite this have the Tigers as the warm favourites at $1.57 while the Rabbitohs are at the generous odds of $2.40 making this an ideal underdog pick.

The odds are likely due to the fact that South Sydney have lost star import Sam Burgess who plead guilty to a grapple tackle charge and copped a one-game ban.

Burgess joins a growing list of unavailable players for the Bunnies who are also without Luke Stuart (hand), Scott Geddes (knee), Ben Ross (neck) and Dave Taylor (collarbone) all out with injury.

There is still plenty of talent in the home side however, with Chris Sandow in great form, hooker Issac Luke back on force, Beau Champion returning and prop Jaiman Lowe jumping in to make his 100th NRL appearance.

Bunnies to claim an upset win and score their first victory over the Tigers at ANZ Stadium.
