NRL Round 22 – Match 5 Footy Preview: Cronulla Sharks v New Zealand Warriors

The out-of-luck Sharks face another tough test on Saturday night when they host the Warriors at Toyota Stadium.

Above only the out-of-contention Storm on the NRL ladder, Cronulla have now lost five on the trot following their unlucky two point loss to the Tigers last week.

With no chance of making the finals, it will get harder and harder every week for the Sharks to turn up with their best and give their fans and new coach anything to look forward to next season.

New Zealand are clinging to their spot in the top eight after they posted back-to-back defeats last week going down at home to the Titans and need to win this.

They are travelling this round and will have to be at full strength to beat the Sharks at Toyota Stadium and start to get back to their best when they won five straight from Rounds 14 – 19.

The Warriors won the last showdown between these two back in Round 2 by a good margin, and we think they can do it again here if they stay focused and use the strength in their forwards.

New Zealand are the favourites at currently paying $1.70 for a win while the home side are out to $2.15.

While a few are tipping an upset, we still like the Warriors for this lead by ex-Shark Brett Seymour who will be keen to put a few points on his old side and their star winger Manu Vatuvei who Cronulla will struggle to contain.

Footy Tip of the Match – Warriors first to 10 points at $1.77 through

NRLleague Footy Tip of the Match:

Even where they have lost recently, New Zealand have been able to get a few early points up on the board and so we are confident to put our money on the Warriors to be the first to 10 points at $1.77 through
