The Warriors enjoy another home game this Sunday arvo when they host the Knights at Mt Smart Stadium.
New Zealand are still in touch with the top eight but must win this match to stay in finals contention and with the home ground advantage and having broken their two-loss streak with a big win over the Sharks last week, are in a good position here.
A win on Sunday and with other results going their way, the Warriors have the chance to move as high as third on the ladder, so really this is one of their most important games heading towards the end of the season.
The Knights have strung together back-to-back wins after an important victory over Manly and then a good result against the Bulldogs last week, so they aren’t low on confidence either making this a blockbuster not to miss.
Both teams have been running in lots of points recently, the nights scoring 88 points in their past three and the Warriors racking up 85 in the same time, so expect an intense, high-scoring showdown.
The Warriors enjoyed victory the last time these two met back in Round 14 and we are tipping them to win again this time round, as are Ladbrokes.com.au who have New Zealand at $1.45 for a win while the Knights are out to $2.75.
It has been a brilliant late season improvement from the Warriors as their list of injured players started returning to the field, but they will need to be brilliant against a Newcastle outfit who have finally found their wings.
Still, the Knights have a less than impressive record across the Tasman so New Zealand should win this as long as they stay strong in defence and expose the Knights weakness by playing hard up the middle.
