NRL Round 24 – Match 1 Footy Tips: Penrith Panthers v South Sydney Rabbitohs

On Friday night footy fans are treated to a great opening match of Round 24 when the Rabbitohs have a last grasp chance of securing a spot in the finals when they travel to Penrith to take on the Panthers.

South Sydney are one of six teams desperately fighting to keep their finals hopes alive and are paying $6 in the future markets at Ladbrokes.com.au to Make the Top 8.

Currently in ninth place on the ladder following their close loss to the Storm last week, the Bunnies will be bringing everything they’ve got to CUA Stadium in order to snare victory because if they don’t then they are out of the finals race completely.

Penrith have secured their spot in the finals but still have plenty to play for including a home game in the semis and are paying $1.18 at Ladbrokes.com.au to Make the Top 4.

The Panthers dropped from second to fourth on the ladder last week after being thrashed 43 – 18 by the Tigers, which was their fifth loss from their past six.

Playing at home gives Penrith an advantage and they are the $1.48 favourites at Ladbrokes.com.au, but they will need to really lift to from their recent poor form to win.

Last time these two met back in Round 12 the Bunnies enjoyed a massive 20 point win over the big cats and with so much to play for it could be another blow out here.

This is the third week in a row that Souths start as the underdogs with their large list of sidelined players, but they proved they could lift when they defeated the Tigers two weeks ago so Penrith are far from safe especially as they are still without Coote (groin).

We are tipping an upset from the desperate Bunnies who are aided by the return of Beau Champion this week, giving Souths their first win from seven against the mountain men at CUA.
