NRL Round 24 – Match 4 Betting & Odds: North Queensland Cowboys v Canterbury Bulldogs

Saturday sees the North Queensland boys attempt to give their fans something small to celebrate after such a dismal season by defeating the Bulldogs when Canterbury travel up to Dairy Farmers Stadium.

Both teams have said goodbye to September and have just three more games to struggle through before the end of the season.

The Cowboys look likely of finishing last of the Premiership contenders sitting in 15th spot and come into this one after losing three on the trot including their 37 – 18 loss to the Titans last week.

The Bulldogs have done a little better for themselves this year, now in 13th on the ladder but will be low on confidence after big losses to the Knights and the Raiders over the past fortnight.

North Queensland have the home ground advantage but are forced to play without Johnathan Thurston for the rest of the season, so whether they will have the points in them to win is debateable.

Still, the Cowboys look the more desperate as they won’t want to take out the ‘teaspoon’ and if they win and the Sharks lose this week they could be safe from that fate.

The home side have also been outscoring the Doggies over the last few weeks, but Canterbury are still the $1.60 favourites at with the Cowboys out to $2.35.

With so little to play for it will be interesting to see which team can rise and win.

We think it could be the Cowboys and are tipping an upset even though Luke O’Donnell is also out after tearing a ligament in his knee.

That said, if you don’t want to risk it stick to the blue and whites as Barba is a real danger and could score enough on his own to outplay the boys up North.

Footy Tip of the Match – Willie Tonga to score first for the Cowboys at $6 through

Current Head-to-Head Odds:

Cowboys $2.35 – Bulldogs $1.60

NRLleague Footy Tip of the Match:

Despite their poor record this season the Cowboys boast plenty of talent including winger Willie Tonga. An ex-Bulldogs player, we think Tonga will be on fire here and are backing him to score the Cowboy’s first try at $6 through
