NRL Round 25 – Match 8 Footy Preview: Canterbury Bulldogs v Penrith Panthers

Round 25 concludes with a Monday night showdown between the Bulldogs and the Panthers at ANZ Stadium where Penrith will be hoping to claw their way back into the top three with a win.

Two recent losses has seen the Panthers drop down into fourth spot on the ladder but they are still a mathematical chance of stealing the Minor Premiership after they enjoyed an awe-inspiring 54 – 18 win over the Rabbitohs last week.

The Bulldogs are well out of contention for the finals after dropping down into 13th. Canterbury managed a win over the Cowboys last week, but after Penrith’s recent point scoring display they could be in big trouble.

They will be seeking a home game win for Brett Kimmorley after he announced his retirement at the end of the season earlier this week. It is also the last home game for the Doggies Luke Patten.

These two last played off in Round 11 when the Panthers enjoyed a tidy win and if things go to plan the visitors will win again here. They are the $1.50 favourites to do so at while the home side is out to $2.65.

Penrith are hungrier for the win with more to play for and after their big win last week should be able to post plenty enough points to add to the Dogs misery.
