NRL Round 26 – Match 4 Footy Tips: North Queensland Cowboys v Sydney Roosters

There is no way the Cowboys can beat the Roosters when they play at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday night right?

Maybe on paper North Queensland don’t stand a chance, but all NRL fans know that the games aren’t played on paper they are played on the field and in the final round of the regular season anything can happen.

We all saw what can happen to one of the top teams if they don’t stay focused when the Titans went down to the Sharks and even though Sydney enjoyed a terrific come-from-behind win over the Sea Eagles last week, before that they lost three on the trot and at the start of the season were one of the most hit and miss teams in the competition.

However, the Cowboys may be just one below the Sharks on the ladder, officially set to finish last of the Premiership contenders, but they have shown none of the determination or ability to lift that Cronulla have of late so an upset here is still unlikely.

The bookies agree and there is little surprise that North Queensland are the underdogs currently at $3.70 through while the Roosters are paying $1.28.

The home side have beaten the Roosters previously this year when they met back in Round 9 and North Queensland ran in a 32 – 14 victory, but after losing five on the trot including a massive 44 point thrashing by the Raiders last week, the Cowboys are likely to be worn and weary and unable to stop the Roosters from flying high.

When Carney and Kenny-Dowall combine the Chooks will have plenty of points to overcome the Cowboys and are still a chance at the top four if the Titans fall down to the Tigers Friday night.

Could be a long night for the Cowboys, any of their devout fans that show up and a disappointing 200th NRL game for Matty Bowen.
