The two teams that will fight it out for the ultimate season prize in the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final have been decided after the thrills and spills of the preliminary finals over the weekend left only the Roosters and the Dragons still standing.
A devastating victory by the Roosters over the Titans on Friday night has ended the dreams of the Gold Coast club making their first NRL Grand Final since their inauguration in 2007.
Sydney continued their brilliant late season form thrashing the Titans 32 – 6 and giving last season’s Wooden Spooners the chance of rising from worst to first in just 12 months.
It was a sad end to the careers of Gold Coast veterans Mat Rogers and Luke Bailey who have now played their final footy games.
But celebrations among the Tricolours fans were the talk of the night, with just the Dragons left to sleigh.
The other week three final was a much closer affair, with St George Illawarra narrowly defeating a gallant Wests Tigers by one point in a nail-biting 13 – 12 result.
