So how did our NRL Round 7 tips and your NRL Round 7 bets go down this week? Below the team at NRLleague.com.au take a look at the week that was on the footy fields around Australia listing the full NRL Round 7 scores and match results.
The Friday night footy fever took over in Brisbane to get the round underway with the Brisbane Broncos further securing their second spot on the NRL Ladder as they won their fifth straight with a gallant 30 – 6 victory over the Canberra Raiders.
Brisbane are just two competition points off the Premiership favourites, Melbourne Storm, and don’t look like slowing down having gotten the job done this week without the help of an injured Wallace or a suspended T’eo.
We picked the Broncs to win but the other Friday night fixture hardly surprised us either with the Dragons holding on to defeat the Newcastle Knights 12 – 4.
Three games on Saturday, one upset and one HUGE victory.
The obvious? Melbourne Storm beat the Canterbury Bulldogs 12 – 6, the Doggies weren’t disgraced by the Melbourne boys are just too good this year.
The big one? The North Queensland Cowboys carried on their merry way with an embarrassing annihilation of an out-of-sorts Sydney Roosters outfit winning 50 – 12 on a sweltering night up in Darwin. The heat suited the boys from up the top and we tipped it.
The upset? The Gold Coast Titans finally snapped their dismal losing streak with a shock 26 – 14 win over the Manly Sea Eagles. What happened to the reigning premiers is anyone’s guess but we’re kicking ourselves for not having stuck with Prince and Co. one more week.
Sunday was host to another big win this time by the New Zealand Warriors in a 44 – 22 home win over the constantly erring South Sydney Rabbithos. This one we were embarrassed by, we love the Warriors but didn’t tip them because of their inconsistency.
The Parramatta Eels fresh off their first win of the season did well at Shark Park too but not good enough, the Cronulla Sharks continuing to live up to their title as the year’s surprise package scoring their fifth on the trot to earn them third spot on the ladder.
Round 7 finished up on Sunday with the West Tigers in a snorer 30 – nil smashing of the Penrith Panthers.
