Round 18 of the 2012 NRL Telstra Premiership has wrapped up with a draw between the third-ranked Cronulla Sharks and the 12th placed Sydney Roosters on Monday night, the thriller capping off a wonderful weekend of footy.
The Sharks and Roosters tied 14 all with two dodgy video referee calls against Cronulla resulting in the year’s first NRL draw.

It was the first time Sharks revolution Todd Carney played his old club and despite trying his heart out he couldn’t get them over the edge missing a field goal in the final seconds along with two of the seven unsuccessful one-point kick attempts during golden point time.
The draw was one of a couple of surprise NRL results from Round 18, the other notable one being the Canberra Raiders big 40 – 12 upset over the top team in the competition – the Melbourne Storm on Saturday night at AAMI Park.
The toll of State of Origin really showed on the depleted and tiered Storm outfit this week and it was the wrong time for them to play the Green Machine who have now won two on the trot.
After such a strong start to the season where the NRL Telstra Premiership win didn’t look a chance of belonging to any other club, Melbourne are now just one win from losing their No. 1 spot on the NRL Ladder.
They remain the $3.70 favourites despite their recent slump in the NRL Premiership 2012 betting markets at bookmaker.com.au however, the bookies confident of a resurgence from the club now that Origin is out of the way.
The fast rising Canterbury Bulldogs are hot on their heels just two points off that coveted leader position thanks to a mid-season splurge in the winning department paying $5 to take out the series.
The Doggies posted their sixth successive win on Friday night when defeating the rapidly slipping Wests Tigers 32 – 20 at Allianz Stadium.
The Friday night footy result with Canterbury winning by 12 was in fact the exact one the team at NRLleague.com.au tipped, giving punters that took our advice a juicy payout at bookmaker.com.au.
The Tigers meanwhile are quickly losing touch with a spot in the NRL semi-finals having dropped to ninth spot on the ladder having lost their last three played.
