NRL State Of Origin 2013 Game 2 – Queensland Team

Queensland stalwart Ashley Harrison is an unlucky omission for State Of Origin two as the Maroons attempt to get their series back on track at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday week.

The Maroons were outplayed by the Blues in game one, forcing coach Mal Meninga’s hand to make changes in an effort to turn the tables at home.

Harrison has been a mainstay in the Queensland team in recent years but he has been replaced in the starting side by Corey Parker, with Canberra hardman Josh Papali set to make his debut from the bench.

Papali is expected to add some extra string in defence from the Maroons bench and his inclusion with be used to counter the tough New South Wales pack who out-muscled the Maroons in game one.

Also dropping out from the game one side is Canberra prop David Shilington, with Chris McQueen moving from the bench into the second row and Nate Myles filling the front- row vacancy left by Shillington.

Manly five-eighth Daly Cherry-Evans is set make his debut from the bench. Where Cherry-Evans features in the game is up for debate but he will provide useful cover if the Maroons halves again fail to fire as they did in game one.
