2013 NRL Round 21 Odds & Draw

The countdown is well and truly on until the 2013 NRL Telstra Premiership moves into finals territory with only six rounds, including #21 this weekend, left to play out of the regular season.

Round 21 Upset Tip: Canberra Raiders ($2.35) to beat Melbourne Storm ($1.61) on Sunday arvo in the nation’s capital

Russell Crow’s Bunnies are still sitting top of the table in line for the Minor Premiership but the Roosters are coming for them now sitting just two competition points from the lead after any easy win for Sydney on Sunday arvo beating the Knights 28 – 12.

The top four teams hold a sizeable gap over the rest of the teams this season too with the Manly Sea Eagles and Melbourne Storm third and fourth on 27 points before the next closest teams sit in a logjam with 24 points and under.

For those at the bottom end of the Top 8, and just outside that down to about 10th spot, it’s really must win from here on in.

So what are we in line for this weekend? Plenty!

Friday night footy kicks off with the Knights hosting the Brisbane Broncos at Hunter Stadium.

Brisbane dug deep this time last week to win a Queensland Derby defeating the Cowboys by just two points.

They’ll have it tough travelling to Newcastle to face their old coach, but Wayne Bennett has won just two of nine played against his former club so it could be an upset result.

The other match tonight has the second-ranked Chooks looking to take over top of the Ladder when they play the 10th ranked Panthers, Penrith smashed 38 – 10 by the Sharks last week in an upset.

Cronulla play Saturday arvo after their second on the trot but are the roughies playing the Warriors across the Tasman even with the likely return of skipper Paul Gallan.

The other two Saturday showdowns look easy picking for punters too with Sea Eagles shorties to defeat the down-and-out Eels and the Rabbitohs travelling up to North Queensland where the Cowboys might have said goodbye to their season but not their pride just yet.

On Sunday the action continues with a nice looking match-up at Canberra Stadium, the Green Machine coming off a gritty 22 – 18 victory over the Dragons and after another playing the Storm.

Melbourne may be right up the top of the ladder but they’ve been hit and miss, last week a miss when going down 30 – 22 to New Zealand.
