With less than two weeks to go until State of Origin steals centre stage, this weekend we move into Round 10 of the 2014 NRL Telstra Premiership with teams to be stripped of their rep stars looking to secure a win now while they still can.

The Women In League round get underway tonight with a Queensland Derby, the Brisbane Broncos at home desperate to atone for their disappointing loss to younger brothers the Cowboys 27 – 14 this time last week up in Townsville.
Tonight they play the Gold Coast Titans who were smashed 40 – 18 last weekend by the bouncing Bunnies and also needing to win back their fans.
The NRL Ladder shows the Titans are still in third spot however while Brisbane, who have lost four of their past five played, have dropped right down to 11th despite showing some really nice stuff on the field – last week not included.
Tip: Broncos want it more is our guess and at home the crowd will be cheering – Broncos by 8 points
The other Friday night showdown is another beauty with the South Sydney Rabbitohs the clear favourites over the Melbourne Storm.
Fresh off their 40 – 18 win over the Titans Souths are sitting fifth on the ladder and working their way up.
Melbourne meanwhile have been very out of sorts sinking down to eighth after back-to-back losses, but they did win in Round 9 over the Sea Eagles in a tight 22 – 19 victory.
Will that have boosted their confidence enough for this acid test? Storm easily hold the stat advantage having won 19 of 24 played and 14 of the past 16, but still think they won’t be strong enough to stop the big Souths outfit.
- Tip: Souths are charging hard and will easily account for the Storm who have the wind out of them of late. Rabbithos by 12 points.
The Parramatta Eels are favourites over the Dragons in the first on Saturday arvo, and will Benji Marshall make his return?
The biggest game on Saturday night meanwhile sees the Cowboys fresh off their home win against the Broncos host another blockbuster this time against the Roosters.
Sydney are favourites in the NRL odds, the current fourth ranked team flying high and looking at their fourth consecutive win after their easy 30 – 6 victory over Wests Tigers last Friday night.
So both won last week but could the North Queensland crew be ready to go back-to-back at home and reignite their finals dreams?
Adding to Sydney’s woes is the whole Mitchell Pearce blow up this week, the in trouble No. 7 to be replaced by Sonny Bill Williams.
- Tip: It’ll be tight as both have form but at home with Pearce out for the rivals think the Cowboys have this by 4 points
Sunday night the clear Premiership favourties, the number one ranked Bulldogs play the Warriors at Waikato Stadium.
Doggies won yet again 38 – 6 in an all-too-easy Dragons thrashing a week ago Sunday.
New Zealand though enjoyed their own big win in Round 9 defeating the Raiders 54 – 12.
Still Canberra has done next to nothing this year so can’t take too much from that. Should be a beauty of a clash entertainment and points wise, was close last time they clashed but think the Doggies are just going too good despite the Warriors’ claims.
- Tip: Number one for a reason the Bulldogs can continue the winning streak with a six point margin.
Monday night the round finishes up with the Sea Eagles, who won three on the trot before their loss last week to the Storm, starting odds-on over the Knights who are the longest priced team of the comp.
