2015 NRL Round 1 Preview & Draw

Tonight the action of the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership kicks off in Queensland’s capital with a mouth-watering clash between reigning premiers South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Brisbane Broncos back under the tutelage of super coach Wayne Bennett.

Bennett is back in charge for the first time since 2008 and so it is a beauty at the old Lang Park to start off another season of the world’s toughest Rugby League competition.

NRL Round 1 Draw

Thursday March 5, 2015

Brisbane Broncos ($2.25) vs South Sydney Rabbitohs ($1.67)

Suncorp Stadium (7:05pm)

One of the blockbuster match-ups of Round 1, Bennett returns and his boys should be keen to make a good first impression against last year’s premiership winners to stamp themselves as a chance this season. The Bunnies meanwhile are looking to be the first back-to-back premiers in the modern game, the last being the Bennett-coached Broncos back in 1992-93.

Friday March 6, 2015

Parramatta Eels ($1.95) vs Manly Warringah Sea Eagles ($1.87)

Pirtek Stadium (6:45pm)

New-look Eels outfit hosting the Sea Eagles with vocal Parramatta recruit Anthony Watmough up against his old club. Won’t be much in it so try those close margin betting options at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Saturday March 7, 2015

Newcastle Knights ($1.98) vs New Zealand Warriors ($1.83)

Hunter Stadium (3:30pm)

First of three Saturday night games, Warriors narrow but deserving favourites in their first trip across the Tasman for 2015.

Gold Coast Titans ($2.55) vs Wests Tigers ($1.52)

Robina Stadium (6:00pm)

Long odds on the home side who have a controversial, to say the least, off-field drug scandal to play through, while the young Wests Tigers side look to prove themselves first-up.

North Queensland Cowboys ($1.70) vs Sydney Roosters ($2.20)

1300 Smiles Stadium (8:00pm)

The NQ crew had their finals’ bid come to an end at the hand of the Roosters by one point last year and are out for revenge here.

Sunday March 8, 2015

Penrith Panthers ($1.92) vs Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs ($1.92)

Pepper Stadium (3:00pm)

A replay of the Preliminary final between these two from last year with the bookies finding it impossible to separate the home side from last year’s Premiership runners-up.

Cronulla Sutherland Sharks ($1.42) vs Canberra Raiders ($2.90)

Remondis Stadium (5:30pm)

One of the more forgettable rounds of the season, could be the two battling to not be this year’s Wooden Spooners is the early bet.

Monday March 9, 2015

St George Illawarra Dragons ($2.15) vs Melbourne Storm ($1.73)

Nice odds offered for the Dragons who enjoyed a gutsy win over Warrington last month in the pre-season.

WIN Jubilee Oval (6:00pm)
