2015 NRL Round 13 Preview & Draw

We’re back to a full round this week in the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership for the first time in three weeks and all 16 clubs are facing off in a supercharged mid-season Round 13.

NRL Round 13 Offer: $2 for the Storm to beat the Panthers on Saturday night at Ladbrokes.com.au!

Things kick off at Suncorp Stadium for a top Friday night footy feature between the Brisbane Broncos and the bottom-of-the-ladder Manly Sea Eagles who welcome back Daly Cherry-Evans early from his shoulder injury.

The other Friday showdown has the Wests Tigers favourite to beat the Gold Coast Titans who discovered this week Cherry-Evans was reneging on his deal with the club to remain a Sea Eagle.

Headlining the Saturday line-up are the South Sydney Rabbitohs taking on the New Zealand Warriors in a 6th vs 7th Top 8 clash and the Penrith Panthers (8th) taking on the Melbourne Storm (4th) who are looking to atone for their devastating loss to the Roosters last week.

In a new offer from the country’s best sportsbook Ladbrokes.com.au are offering a hot deal of $2 for Melbourne to beat Penrith on Saturday night with a max bet of $20!

It’s the Queen’s Birthday long weekend as well so the NRL draw has been amended and features two Monday games with the Canterbury Bulldogs (9th) taking on the ladder-leaders St George Illawarra Dragons (1st) before the Parramatta Eels (15th) shoot for another upset when they play the North Queensland Cowboys (3rd) who are after their 10th on the trot.

NRL Round 13 Draw

Friday June 5, 2015

Brisbane Broncos ($1.46) vs Manly Sea Eagles ($2.80)

Suncorp Stadium (7:35pm)

The Brisbane Broncos are fired up and ready for another win after a big 24 – 12 effort over Canberra last week. They often struggle to find form against Manly however so can’t go into tonight’s match complacent. Cherry-Evans makes an early return for the Sea Eagles who have won only three games this time in and are at a firming price to make that four with an upset at the old Lang Park.

Wests Tigers ($1.70) vs Gold Coast Titans ($2.20)

Leichardt Oval (7:35pm)

Wests come into this one fresh off a bye and out to atone for their Round 11 loss to the Cowboys when kept scoreless by the form team of the comp currently. The Gold Coast meanwhile lost to the Bunnies last weekend at home and will be looking to take advantage of the Tigers’ loss of Robbie Farah, Wests winning just six of 21 played with him in the team.

Saturday June 6, 2015

Newcastle Knights ($2.05) vs Canberra Raiders ($1.80)

Hunter Stadium (3:00pm)

Newcastle were defeated by just four in NZ bye the Warriors last week and will appreciate coming home to Hunter taking on the Green Machine who also come off a defeat when beaten by Brisbane in Round 12. Ricky Stuart was a big old sook after that defeat, and even though the Knights are missing five key players could give the Raiders’ coach more to be sour about.

South Sydney Rabbitohs ($1.60) vs New Zealand Warriors ($2.40)

nib Stadium (5:30pm)

Defending premiers the Rabbitohs come off a 22 – 16 victory over the Gold Coast and play another Round 12 winner in the Warriors who travel back across the Tasman. This one will be close and probably come down to the final quarter so whoever can hold on and wear their rivals down will come away with the competition points.

Penrith Panthers ($2.25) vs Melbourne Storm ($1.67)

Pepper Stadium (7:30pm)

The Panthers got beaten in a shock loss by the Eels last week and are out to win back some fans taking on the Storm at Pepper Stadium. Top odds of $2 are being offered by Ladbrokes.com.au for the Storm to salute in a Saturday favourites special, Melbourne looking to bounce back after their disappointing 24 – 2 loss to the Chooks on Monday night.

Sunday June 7, 2015

Cronulla Sutherland Sharks ($3.30) vs Sydney Roosters ($1.35)

Remondis Stadium (4:00pm)

Short odds on the Chooks winning again after the Tri-Colours annihilated Melbourne last Monday night. While Sydney come off a big win, Cronulla were well beaten when going down 42 – 6 to the Dragons last week, and could be defeated by something similar this week even with the return of skipper Paul Gallen.

Monday June 8, 2015

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs ($1.83) vs St George Illawarra Dragons ($2)

ANZ Stadium (4:00pm)

Fresh off the bye the Bulldogs are narrow favourites to beat the top-of-the-table Dragons whose defense is proving very hard to post points against this season. St George are likely on a high after an easy victory over the Sharks (42 – 6) last week. Boosting Canterbury’s line-up is the return of Trent Hodkinson from Origin, and James Graham (knee) is also back. For the Dragons it is Joel Thompson returning from a hamstring injury in their squad.

Parramatta Eels ($2.50) vs North Queensland Cowboys ($1.55)

Pirtek Stadium (7:00pm)

The Eels were upset winners over the Panthers who lost Matt Moylan (out for up to six weeks) last Friday night and are after another shock win here. They are the underdogs obviously taking on the Cowboys who only just held on to beat Manly in the final minute up at Townsville last week and who chase their 10th on the trot. North Queensland need to lose eventually but whether it is before they take their consecutive wins into double figures will be determined this round.
