The Melbourne Storm are the only undefeated team in this year’s NRL Telstra Premiership as we head into Round 4 kicking off with a Good Friday double header.
NRL Round 4 Upset Tip: Melbourne to beat the Sharks on Monday night @ $2.15 through Ladbrokes.com.au
Melbourne got the better of the Warriors (21 – 14) in New Zealand last Sunday and sit top of the NRL Ladder with three wins from as many games played for the season.
They get a nice eight-day turnaround too not playing until the NRL Round 4 closer on Monday night when they take on the Sharks in Cronulla at the newly-renamed Southern Cross Group Stadium.
The Storm are the underdogs to win however, Cronulla with the home ground advantage but coming off the 22 – 12 loss to Manly last Monday.
We’re without Thursday night football for the first time this season as the AFL kicks off tonight, but the two Friday matches in the NRL are worth the wait.
The first has the Bunnies taking on the Bulldogs at ANZ, South Sydney out to atone for their first loss of the season 8 – 6 to St George at the SCG last Sunday.
It was a game played in the wet and a strange one, with no points scored in the second half. Even though Souths were down by two, Greg Inglis had a brain fry in the dying seconds and kicked for a field goal in the most entertaining event of Round 3!
Big NRL odds are on offer for South Sydney to recover this week at Ladbrokes.com.au however as they play with Sam Burgess who suffered a nasty neck injury last weekend that could have been much, much worse.
Straight after the Sydney clash the action at Suncorp Stadium pits the Brisbane Broncos against the North Queensland Cowboys in a rematch of last year’s decider.
This is a beauty everyone will be tuning in to watch, the fifth-ranked Broncos favourites to atone for the one point loss to the Cowboys in the NRL Grand Final last year as well as their shock loss to Penrith in Round 3.
The Cowboys though shouldn’t be discounted as they blasted the Roosters last week and are always a danger when they start the underdogs away from NQ Headquarters.
Other highlights of the round include the bottom-of-the-table Roosters looking to get their season back on track after a devastating early start when they play Manly on Saturday who are fresh off their first victory for the year; and the Wests Tigers hosting the Eels in an eighth plays ninth ANZ Stadium clash on Easter Monday afternoon with Parra in surprisingly good form this season so far including their big 20 – 6 win over Canterbury last Friday night.
