We enter the first split round of the 2016 NRL Telstra Premiership this weekend with State Of Origin Game I playing out next Wednesday night.
Upset NRL Round 12 Tip: Cowboys to beat the Dragons @ $2.20 through Ladbrokes.com.au on Saturday night!
That gives us just four games to get our footy bets down on for Round 12 starting on Friday night with the third-ranked Brisbane Broncos hosting the Wests Tigers at Suncorp Stadium.
Brisbane played in another blockbuster NRL Grand Final rematch with the Cowboys last Friday evening up in Townsville and the great rivalry continued with another thriller.
The Broncos didn’t play their best however and after a couple of failed field goal attempts the win wet to the reigning Premiers, North Queensland getting the better of their big brothers 19 – 18.
Now Brisbane look to bounce back, albeit playing without a host of Origin stars including fullback Darius Boyd, sensational winger Corey Oates, Sam Thaiday and Corey Parker.
Even without their rep players the former ladder-leading Broncos are red hot favourites in NRL betting at Ladbrokes.com.au to hold of Wests who are down to 13th even after beating the Knights 20 – 12 last Saturday.
Brisbane have a stellar record over the Tigers having lost to them just four times before, and with the likes of Hunt, Milford and McCollough still on board the dent left by the missing rep players isn’t as deep as it could be.
Boosting Brisbane’s chances even more is the stat from the last year showing they’ve got an 11 – 3 record as home favourites at Suncorp, imposing for any team coming to the old Lang Park.
Saturday night the 11th-ranked Dragons play the Cowboys, St. George favourites in the markets as the fourth-placed North Queensland crew are missing their key players Matt Scott and Johnathan Thurston to the Maroons.
The Dragons haven’t defeated the Cowboys at WIN Stadium since 2010, but without JT the NQ boys are always more vulnerable. Still, that just opens up value in the market for Cows’ fans.
On Sunday the Raiders are favourites to defeat the Bulldogs in a seventh plays fifth showdown at Canberra’s GIO Stadium.
Canberra were impressive last round going over to NZ and smashing the Warriors 38 – 12, while Canterbury were the latest team to get the better of the Roosters (32 – 20) last Sunday.
Round 12 concludes on Monday night at Hunter Stadium with the season’s worst, Newcastle, shooting for a much needed win over the Eels who are caught up in more drama with the Corey Norman drug charges hanging over their heads.
