2017 NRL ROUND 19 BETTING TIPS & DRAW

After Queensland wrapped up yet another State Of Origin series win, attention turns back to the 2017 NRL Premiership that enters Round 19 this weekend.

Upset NRL Round 19 Tip: Panthers to beat the Warriors @ $2.7 – Ladbrokes.com.au

Six rugby league games are slated starting with two Friday Night footy showdowns. First-up the Warriors take on the Panthers in a 10th plays 9th clash across the Tasman that could have a big impact on the make-up of the Top 8.

Then at GIO Stadium in Canberra, the home boys are clear favourites to hold out the Dragons.

Brisbane are out to move out of fifth and back into the Top 4 with a seemingly easy win over the Wooden Spoon-bound Knights on Saturday, before the Titans take on the reigning Premiers the Sharks at the Gold Coast later that night.

Brookvale hosts a mismatched NRL showdown with Manly looking to bounce back to winning form taking on the Tigers, before things come to an end at Barlow Park with the Bunnies at big odds to hold out the rising Cowboys who have been brave without skipper JT.

NRL ROUND 18

New Zealand Warriors ($1.50) vs Penrith Panthers ($2.70)

Friday July 17, 2017 (6:00pm) – Mt Smart Stadium

The Warriors, unaffected by Origin footy, are favourites in the first on Friday night fresh off a bye. Penrith meanwhile won a controversial game last weekend ending the Sea Eagles’ winning streak with a 16 – 8 victory questioned for the lopsided penalty count. A Top 8 bid is calling these two clubs, so a win and the two competition points is crucial. Stats show the Panthers have won four of their past five games against New Zealand and represent value here despite this being the farewell match for Super League-bound Manu Vatuvei.

Canberra Raiders ($1.45) vs St George Illawarra Dragons ($2.85)

Friday July 17, 2017 (7:50pm) – GIO Stadium

The NRL betting markets favour the home side in the other clash tonight, the Green Machine tipped to beat the seventh-ranked St. George at GIO Stadium in the nation’s capital. The Raiders were well-beaten by the Cowboys in Round 17 here before their bye last weekend, while the Dragons are out to atone for the 10 point loss to the Titans the weekend before last. Canberra are looking down the barrel of their fifth straight loss, but the Dragons also come off some woeful lead-up form with just one win from their past four. This is a must win for the Raiders who have a tough run in the next few of weeks taking on the Storm and Sharks. They’ll be more desperate.

Newcastle Knights ($3.80) vs Brisbane Broncos ($1.28)

Saturday July 15, 2017 (5:30pm) – McDonald Jones Stadium

The Knights gave away a big lead late against the Bulldogs last week, letting their rivals score two tries in the final five minutes to lose. No doubt Newcastle are the season’s worst, but Brisbane will have to be careful not to go into this match complacent despite what the odds say will be an easy win for the Broncos. The visitors come off a bye, which they desperately needed after the 12 – 42 thrashing in Round 17 at the hands of the Storm. Still, history shows Brisbane have runaway with plenty of games against Newcastle and they’ve won five of their past seven away from home. Nothing really suggests that the Knights can get back on track, so happy to write them off from here on.

Gold Coast Titans ($2.35) vs Cronulla Sharks ($1.62)

Saturday July 15, 2017 (7:30pm) – CBUS Super Stadium

Footy goes to the Gold Coast later on Saturday night with the Titans hosting the Sharks. Cronulla are red hot favourites and sit second on the ladder, looking the goods in a charge towards a Premiership title defence. Cronulla come off a bye having run up a big score over the Roosters (44-12) last time out. They are by far travelling better than the 14th-ranked Titans and the odds on this match reflect that. Earlier in the season though, the GC crew upset the Sharkies, and they did defeat the Tigers and Dragons before their bye. That said, the Sharks should be too good especially if they welcome back their Origin stars including fullback Holmes who scored the Game 3 treble for the Maroons on Wednesday night.

Manly Sea Eagles ($1.16) vs Wests Tigers ($5.50)

Sunday July 16, 2017 (2:00pm) – Brookvale Oval

Manly dominate the markets to bounce back to winning form after their controversial loss to Penrith last weekend. The penalty count certainly looked suspect and at home against the out-of-form Tigers, the Sea Eagles are short favourites. At Brookvale as the punters’ pick, Manly have won four of their past six. The markets have blowout odds on the Tigers and it could be closer than predicted, but it will be the fourth-ranked Manly on top for sure.

South Sydney Rabbitohs ($2.60) vs North Queensland Cowboys ($1.52)

Sunday July 16, 2017 (4:00pm) – Barlow Park

The Bunnies are at big odds to hold off the Cowboys who have been very good in the face of adversity this season. NQ were all but written out of the Premiership race after news JT wouldn’t play again in 2017, but they’ve still manage to charge back up the NRL Ladder into sixth position. This is a ‘home game’ for Souths, but it is played up in Cairns and that obviously plays right into the hands of North Queensland. Impressive over the Green Machine last weekend, too much is tipping a Cowboys win here who have won seven of their past eight against South Sydney.
