The 2010 State of Origin Queensland team will forever be remembered as one of the legendary squads as they entered the history books by surpassing their own record and securing their fifth consecutive series win.
Before the series opener for 2010, the Queenslanders were the underdogs with bookmakers across the country including SportsBet, as the bitter disappointment of their loss to the Blues at Suncorp Stadium in game three the previous year was still fresh in their fans mind.
But the canetoads proved they had the winning team combination, bringing out their larrikin side to come together as a strong squad who have fun on the field, and proving that the way to win Origin is to play as one with plenty of heart.
They were too tough for the Blues once again, as the loyalty selectors showed their central players payed off with another series win.
The 2010 State of Origin Maroons squad featured many of the same players who had enjoyed the success in the previous four series and they kept their powerful nucleus together throughout the the three games, only making minor changes.
The only alteration to the Queensland side for the 2010 Origin was the replacement of Petero Civoniceva in game two after the veteran prop broke his hand, mixing up the bench and the reserve players.
